Thanks for your interest in finding out a little more about us.
Viscopy is a not-for-profit rights management organisation that connects users with creators of content. We do this by providing licensing services on behalf of our Australian and New Zealand visual arts members so that their artworks can be reproduced in material like books, websites, advertising, merchandise, exhibition catalogues and more. As a Viscopy member, we can administer the reproduction of your work in return for fair payment.
We manage international artists in Australia, as well as Australian and New Zealand artists’ work being used abroad via reciprocal agreements with 45 visual arts rights management agencies around the world.
- 43% of Australian and New Zealand artists and their beneficiaries
- More than 11,000 Australian and New Zealand artists
- 36,000 international artists and beneficiaries in Australian and New Zealand territories
Viscopy formed in June 1995. In July 2012, Viscopy entered into a services arrangement with the Copyright Agency to reduce costs to its members. Known as Copyright Agency|Viscopy, the mission of this partnership is to help build a more resilient creative economy where new artistic expression is valued and artists are acknowledged and financially rewarded for their work.
Viscopy remains a separate legal entity with members and a Board of Directors and its own Constitution sets out the rights and obligations of members, the rules under which we operate and the objectives of our organisation.
